Which is better?

I think that in general local search engines are better if you need to find some local services or companies. But in the international sphere, Google and yahoo are the best.

But there are some instance that some of the local company reviews posted in yahoo can also be seen or indexed in google local.

Well its depends upon the local server ,but i think Google will be much useful

I would go for Google. You will get more traffic from google local compare to yahoo.

Google has large database of users, in my point of view there is no match for Google in terms of visitors and search results.

As i am not much in yahoo ....So can't say about the exact answer ..
yup but i think yahoo is less popular than Google.....

Google have mentioned on several occasions that they frequently allow spam into the Maps index so that it can be used to train and inoculate the system against future spam as they use it to increase their understanding of it. And Yahoo Local, and Bing Local remain critical places for search visibility, though.
