Yahoo likes more inbound links, try to get links from dmoz, bing and yahoo directories. Better you can do social bookmarking for each and every page of your web site

You can try to get maximum yahoo backlinks. Blog roll links are very good options if you get up 1 link from blog roll it will allow you to get 100 yahoo backlinks also.

I think it is easier to rank well in google than in yahoo hence; I don't see no reason why you won't be able to do well in yahoo.
