The main difference between a 301 redirect and a 302 redirect is that a 301 is a “permanent” redirect and a 302 is “temporary”.
This has implications not for users, but search engines and the authority transfer within the website. If a new page on a website is created (the site structure might have changed, or a new website is built) that replaces an old or existing page, a redirection is recommend.

The 301 is a permanent redirect and the 302 is temporarily redirect , both are used to redirect an address to your given page but search engines consider that 302 is for sometime and keep the old page URL however the 301 tells search engine that previous page url should be removed and store the new one permanently.

301 redirects are permanent. They mean that the page has moved, and they request any search engine or user agent coming to the page to update the URL in their database. This is the most common type of redirect that people should use.

The best reason to use a 302 redirect is to keep your ugly URLs from being indexed permanently by search engines. For example, if your site is built by a database, you might redirect your homepage from a URL like.

301 redirect specifies that the site has moved permanently to new location while 302 redirect specifies that the site has moved only temporary and can be located in future.

Well every one above my post define that 301 is permanent redirect & 302 is temporary redirect. That’s true. But there is something to consider when you redirect one page to another. 301 redirect is search engine friendly, Search engine consider that the URL is permanently moved. But search engine consider 302 redirect as spammers activity. So, it’s always better to avoid 302 redirect.

301 specifies permanent transfer of web page to a new location whereas 302 redirect specifies that site has moved only temporary and could be found later again.

301 redirects are permanent that mean the page has moved, and they request any search engine or user agent coming to the page to update the URL in their database.
302 Redirect also known as a Temporary Redirect. This is probably not the best choice because the Search Engine Spiders will see the Server Header initially downloading the page

301 redirects are permanently and 302 is temporary redirect
301 redirects are permanent mean that the page has moved, and they request any search engine or user agent coming to the page to update the URL in their database so its not look like a spammer.
So always use 301 redirects instead is that then your URLs maintain their link popularity.

    Thanks,

The line of difference between these two redirection processes is very fine. One directs (301) on permanent basis and the other (302) does it for some time being or temporarily. However, this is not for users but definitely for Search Engines and it helps websites transfer their authority. Now, creating a new website never means lose authority. With redirection, one gets all authority of the old or existing page on the newly constructed one.

301 redirection is used when a page moved permanently to other place. It tells search engine to update the old url with new url.
302 redirection is used for time being or temporarily for any reason.

    • 301: Permanent redirect. Clients making subsequent requests for this resource should use the new URI. Clients should not follow the redirect automatically for POST/PUT/DELETE requests.
    • 302: Redirect for undefined reason. Clients making subsequent requests for this resource shouldnot use the new URI. Clients should not follow the redirect automatically for POST/PUT/DELETE requests.
    • 303: Redirect for undefined reason. Typically, 'Operation has completed, continue elsewhere.' Clients making subsequent requests for this resource should not use the new URI. Clients shouldfollow the redirect for POST/PUT/DELETE requests.
    • 307: Temporary redirect. Resource may return to this location at a later point. Clients making subsequent requests for this resource should use the old URI. Clients should not follow the redirect automatically for POST/PUT/DELETE requests.

301 redirects are changeless. They imply that the page has moved, and they ask for any web crawler or client executor going to the page to upgrade the Url in their database.the best motivation to utilize a 302 redirect is to keep your revolting Urls from being filed for all time via web crawlers.
