Question about .htaccess

Hey guys recently i tried to change my website template to wordpress. Then only the problem starts.
My website is already indexed in Google PR 2. Now the problem is those pages are .HTML files. But my new template designs are .PHP.

How to convert .PHP files to .html files
for example my site is "mysite.com/index.php"
i want to change like "mysite.com/index.html"

Please guys don't advise me to change the file name because my template is wordpress.

my main another problem is "mysite.com/about"
i want that like to be "mysite.com/about.html"

I know we can done this in .htaccess.

My .htaccess file is now empty please tell me the code. I tried more but no results.
