Acronym for redundant array of independent disks in a RAID is a technology that provides for amplified storage features and the consistency of a dismissal, joining several disks into logical components of the device, when all the disks in the array are codependent.

A RAID array is a series of drives which together act as a single storage system. In most configurations this storage system can tolerate the failure of a drive without losing data and depending on how it is configured, can rebuild itself once the failed component is replaced.

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent or Inexpensive Disks. With the help of RAID you can easily increase your storage capability. RAID1 helps you to collect the data immediately and make a back up as well. RAID3 devotes storing information to a drive.
