You can try to upload plugin directly thought FTP to wp-content/plugins and then install it manualy in admin panel > plugins directory and have a try.

Probably a permissions issue, you can either change the permissions on the folder to 777, or change the owner to 'apache' or 'httpd', depending on what user your web server runs as.
You're probably on a shared host, so changing the folder to '777' will do the trick.
