Thread: Can anyone tell me the monthly cost of hosting a massive website like ebay or amazon?

Please just the dollar facts people. I've been told web hosting can cost upto $50k per month. I just don't believe it. I may as well buy a blimming building and the web hosting system and do it my self if that's the case.

yea thats putting data on their servers. GET your own servers. dell.com. then youll need a domain directing people to your servers when they type www.yourwebsitesname.com (or something else you know)

yeah that's true.. one of my friends runs a site with over 25k members and he pays arount $800

yep... or get your own virtual private servers.. in other words... "rent a blade" which case you pay from $100 to $500 per month... and they will dedicate a server for you.. that server is yours.. they will do the maintenance... everything is setup for you... if I had a big business that's what I would do... so if something goes wrong I love to play the "blame game"
