It depends on what "good" means to you. I've used some awesome hosts and didn't have to spend an arm and a leg. I'm currently using HostGator and they're not expensive at all, actually have a coupon that gave me my first month free, and I also host on Rackspace which is one of the BEST hosts out there and it didn't cost me a lot at all if hosting on the cloud.

It depends on your website, if you are using some "heavy" scripts you'll have to pay to have high performance

It is a wrong perception, however, that cheap web hosts entail poor quality of services because there are really, indeed, reputable web host providers that are offering affordable or cheap web hosting packages.
Think that Hostdone.com cheap web hosting plans are the best and most attractive.
Their hosting packages include a full list of features that provides everything you need plus plenty of room for growth.

It doesn't mean like that. Web hosting will vary according to the company which provides. If you want to host it in a big company , their cost would much higher than the small company.And also, if you give more money for hosting, you will get more space for your website.
