Default Host for static files / images?

I run a rather popular imageboard, and I'm going through growing pains. I had to go from a colo'ed server down to shared hosting due to the ever common starving student syndrome. I moved to Cirtex from several positive reviews, and went with their 30gb and 1.5tb/month plan.

But, that wasn't such an easy move. So far I've been suspended about 7-8 times for "excessive CPU usage", according to them my imageboard script runs about 11-14% cpu time, which makes absolutely no sense. After doing multiple optimizations and fixes, and even restricting several extra features, it still wasn't enough for them, so I'm currently retooling the script to allow external loadbalancing.

Basically, my plan is to run the script itself on a vps, then host the images themselves on shared hosting. My site pulls around 400-500gb/month, and growing. I can't find a vps plan with that kind of bandwidth I can easily afford, so I was planning on getting a vps with low bandwidth, then rely on shared hosting for the actual images and other static files.

Any recommendations for just basically a web account with a lot of space and bulk bandwidth? I looked at the bargain webhosts like LunarPages and Dreamhost, but I'm really really concerned about overselling, and I'm really going to push the bandwidth and space limits I'll be given. I already got a 512mb vps from linode, so I'm covered there. I'd like to stay around 50/month combined for the vps and webhosting.

How long has the host been around?

It will be a good idea to deal with time-tested and trusted brands in the hosting industry.

As for reliable time-tested web hosts, I can suggest Ultrawebsitehosting.com company.
Overall reliability is great, the control panel is easy to use, and useful, things work the way they say they will - basically impressed with these guys.
