    Default What is bandwidth?

    Hello Friends

Bandwidth is amount of data transferred to and from a webhosting account. The most common examples of data transfer are:

    - Files and images being requested by your visitor's web browsers.
    - Files transferred to and from your domain using an FTP program.
    - Email messages received and sent from your domain.

    Thanks for reading

    Hi

When you open a Web page or download a file, it travels very quickly from wherever it happens to be on the planet Earth to your ISP. It then travels from the ISP's computers to your computer. The actual speed at which information moves through a wire is always the same, no matter what your bandwidth might be. That is, electrons run through the wires at close to the speed of light, about 670,000,000 MPH (six hundred and seventy million miles per hour). At that speed, you could circle the globe 7 times a second, or 420 times a minute. So why does it take so long for every Web page you visit to appear on your screen? That's where bandwidth comes in.

    Thanks

    Hi
In computer networks, bandwidth is often used as a synonym for data transfer rate - the amount of data that can be carried from one point to another in a given time period (usually a second). This kind of bandwidth is usually expressed in bits (of data) per second (bps). Occasionally, it's expressed as bytes per second (Bps). A modem that works at 57,600 bps hastwice the bandwidth of a modem that works at 28,800 bps. In general, a link with a high bandwidth is one that may be able to carry enough information to sustain the succession of images in a video presentation.

    Thanks

    Hello Friends........

Bandwidth is a term used to describe how much information can be transmitted over a connection. Bandwidth is usually given as bits per second, or as some larger denomination of bits, such as Megabits per second, expressed as kbit/s or Mbit/s. Bandwidth is a gross measurement, taking the total amount of data transferred in a given period of time as a rate, without taking into consideration the quality of the signal itself.

    Thanks

Bandwidth refers to the amount of data that can be transferred to or from a website or server, typically measured in bits per second.Bandwidth is most familiar to consumers because of its use by hosting companies or internet service providers. The most practical way to determine just how much bandwidth your website will need is to ask your web host to help you estimate your need based on that information.

Throughput can be looked at as a subset of bandwidth that takes into account whether data was successfully transmitted or not. While the bandwidth of a connection might be quite high, if the signal loss is also high, then the throughput of the connection will remain somewhat low. Conversely, even a relatively low-bandwidth connection can have a moderately high throughput if the signal quality is also high.

    Hello Friends..........

Bandwidth is defined as the speed at which data is transferred over an electronic communication device like a server. The units of measurement are based on the maximum transfer rate and measured in either Kbps or Mbps.

    Thanks

Bandwidth or digital bandwidth: a rate of data transfer, throughput or bit rate, measured in bits per second. Bandwidth or analog bandwidth, frequency bandwidth or radio bandwidth: a measure of the width of a range of frequencies, measured in hertz..
