Post Choosing a PHP Web Host

A little information about PHP would be helpful. It is a very popular server side programming language that can be embedded into HTML. Its popularity has been aided by the following features:

    *It is free.
    *Easy to learn and use.
*It is a fully object oriented language.
    *It is platform independent.
*Its speed on the Linux server makes it very effective in building complex, and large web applications.
*It allows advanced programming and is very easy to integrate with web pages.
*PHP also integrates very nicely with MYSQL.

    It's free
Nothing that is free usually is good, unless it is the winning prize. I believe that paid hosts are much more reasonable choise, surely if yo are having a serious purpose.

I may recommend companies I consider as the good ones.

    glowhost.com
    santrex.net
    and the biggest dedicated rackspace.com

consider that nothing free is really responsible for anything, including your uptime and stability.

    Hello

Finding a reliable company to host your web site can be a daunting process. Whilst some graphic designers stick to print design and have little knowledge of web hosting technologies, others have embraced the interactive design medium.
This can range from learning about interactive design processes and technologies such as Flash to possibly even coding and scripting languages such javascript and PHP.

    Thanks

    Hello
First, you will need to find out what platform the web host uses. This can be vital if you will be designing your own website. If you will be using programs from the Microsoft brands to design your web site, then you will need to make sure the host offers Windows based platforms.

However, if you will be using other brands of web design tools, you may be able to work with a Linux based platform. Make sure you check to see what program you will be using for web design and then confirm that your web host of choice offers the right platform.

Second, you will need to determine if the company offers enough bandwidth and space for your website. Depending on the content you plan to include, you will need a certain amount of space. Websites heavy with pictures or videos will definitely need more bandwidth and space, so make sure you check the numbers.

A third tip to consider is to check customer service quality. When you are dealing with a web hosting company, customer service and support is vital. Look into the support options provided by the company, and try to see if you can find customer feedback to determine the quality of the customer service.

Never go with a free host if you want to start a really good website because your uptime is going to be very low (around 90%) and your site will load very slowly. They can steal your content anytime. If you want a serious website go with a serious (paid) host.

Most free web hosts impose advertising on your website. This is done to cover the costs of providing your site the free web space and associated services. Some hosts require you to place a banner on your pages, others display a window that pops up every time a page on your site loads, while still others impose an advertising frame on your site.
Some free hosts impose a maximum size on each of the files you upload (including one with a low of 200KB). Other sites restrict the file types you can upload to HTML and GIF/JPG files. If your needs are different, eg, if you want to distribute your own programs on your pages, you will have to look elsewhere.
