    I'm setting up a new website for my friend and considering using godaddy to buy the domain name and also use their hosting service.

    What are your views of godaddy hosting service?

    It is domain name registrar which offers hosting services.
    I would better register domain names via this company then buying hosting.
    You will make right decision to deal with hosting provider and for recommendation have a look at marblehost.com as they offer nice shared hosting services and never sells overshared network as many hosts do.
    You will also have nice opportunity to get free domain name if you buy any hosting plans.

    If you do not need to use support very much they may be a good choice. If your new to hosting I would avoid them because their response time can be anywhere from 5-12 hours. I recommend HostGator as they have instant support.

    I would question that. Their reseller hosting is more like a all in one affiliate program.
