I believe the best way is to do some Google research based on the topic you're after. The best thing ( when it can be done ) is to use niche directories with a high PR, like : if you are going for travel use travel directories than general ones. Of course this doesn't work for every topic, and if that is the case use high PR directories.

search them on Google.. I have more than 10000 quality directories I found all of them from google

You can find many lists on digitalpoint.com, for all kind of a niches.

Directorycritic is my choice and you can also try other directories to look for the best. Forums like this also helps you find directories.
