Real Traffic from Directories?

I hardly see any traffic coming from directories. It only helps increase backlinks.

How's your experience with directories been so far?

I think directories not give you big referer trarffic
but it better for SEO

I agree. Directory can give you traffic but the main reason is backlinks. It's tough to see traffic on web directories so we end up on analytics.

I think directory slowly for traffic.

I have only ever had the odd visit every now and again both from free and paid directories truth be told they are not a great traffic generator.

I have the same story: no real traffic, but some good backlinks (of course, it great for SEO).

Messages in this thread really tells that it is important to choose those quality directories to submit your site to.

The only directory I get traffic from is DMOZ.

I have an experience that Dirs are not giving much experience. But they are to some extend strengthening the PR.However, some the best directories will give desired result.
