In my knowledge dmoz doesn't sell ads and they don't have any direct income apart from donations that they might get. They are supported by netscape (and google?) for operational expenses.

I think they have some connection with Google. Maybe Google maybe sponsoring DMOZ.

I think google actually own it now - that's why it's so difficult to get in or even become an editor.

DMOz is the open directory project.It is simply data provider.

I have no ides about this earlier but i got the idea what is it. Nice post are here. Its a open directory which do not have any direct income.

I have no idea but I don't think Google owns them. I'm sure they are making something off of their site.
