I need to know about the importance of sitemap in a website. I have to know whether it has any positive impact on the website or not. Is this a part of SEO? Will anyone help me out to understand this particular area? I have come to know that sitemaps help the navigation process for the users very easily. What do you think about this? I have recently introduced my website. I would like to know if the sitemaps is necessary for my website or not. If it’s essential then what is the best way of getting it. I also need to know whether there can be any negative impact of the sitemaps on the visitors. Please give me suggestions.

As per my knowledge there is no negative impact of site map. there are many advantages of site map such as, Site maps offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site and many more.

A site map is a visual or textually organized model of a Web site's content that allows the users to navigate through the site to find the information they are looking for.. its a very becoming the informative for the visitor.
