    Default Directory...worth it?

I never find myself searching through link directories unless redirect there by clicking a link in search and then usually I press back. In fact the only time I like directories is if they're on a website I enjoy such as if one was here, then I would look through it

My question is, is directories really worth it? I mean do any of you have great traffic success from directories?

Would love to hear everyones thoughts

These days every other webmaster is starting his own directory.

Does this site have a directory?

I start my own directories but only allow links related to the forum's niche. Like for example, I just started a forum for talking about the paranormal (lol) and I will probally provide a directory for paranormal and odd links only.

Those sort of directories I enjoy

Not for traffic but useful for PR building. Bidding directories will send you traffic.

Search engines determine which keywords to rank you for by your anchor text. Directories are great places to leave your anchor text (submission title). So yes, submitting to directories is a good thing. You will also get a little PR.

    If it's a free link, it's a good option.

Directories are still worth it to use. It's part of link building helping your site to increase backlinks which are essential factors to have a higher page rank.

Directory submissions help in building links and pagerank so directory submissions are worth it.

Well this all makes sense. I guess I didn't think about that, the more links the better
