yes directory submission is still alive and i still do them.. you cannot get immediate results, but will take some time.. be patient.. i do them everyday and also other online promotional methods..

I don't see much use in directories submission but I continue doing it as it is one of SEO tools though not very effective.

It does still make sense after all because every single back link from any web directories will help your website. I still find it useful.

Directory submission is not the source of problem, I use to do Directory submission every day. Automated directory submission is something like poison for achieving your organic SEO goals. However, manual directory submission ensuring unique descriptions and titles on each directory must be helpful in getting better PR. Even if you have outsourced your link building and directory submission part of SEO, be sure that they use unique titles and descriptions on each link they create for you through directory submission.

I find directory submission still helping our campaigns. I have to agree with katepair, every single backlinks from any other site especially to web directories helps our rankings/website.

Yes, I am still submitting my site with directories and it helps me to get high SERP and PR. Directory submission will not give you instant result but it should be included in your seo techniques.

I agree with jack_host & sherill. Thus, Directory submission is still alive. It gives us back links for permanent in some directories. In this we have to be patient to get approve from the directories webmaster. And the automated directory submission is a harmful. We can't get good organic result. By, the manual submission only we can get the good organic result.
