I've actually never used DMOZ and I have no idea why. This was a helpful thread for me as it is something I need to look into.

If i had a t-shirt printing press i would roll out a nice line of shirts emblazoned with the slogan "I was accepted by DMOZ". Alternatively, the "I was rejected by DMOZ" design would probably sell much more.

One of the best web directories, but lacking only one thing i.e. very late approval of links without any reason.

DMOZ is the best directory ever I have seen. Google and other search engines takes data from DMOZ. So its better to submit your site with dmoz.

Getting listed in DMOZ is very valuable, but the only problem is that it takes years to be approved into the directory.
