HTML or Hypertext Markup Language is the standard and most basic language in use to create web pages. It has a very simple code structure that makes it extremely easy to pick-up and learn compared to any other language.
CSS or Cascading Style Sheets is a style sheet language that can be applied to any XML document. Its purpose is to simplify the styling of certain elements so that the written code would be a lot easier to read.

HTML is simple with a few keywords that are dedicated to formatting certain words, sentences, or paragraphs. It is also quite forgiving with mistakes, still showing some result even when there are errors in the code.

CSS was developed to simplify the code in much bigger pages. This doesnít mean that CSS cannot be used in simpler and less complex pages. CSS can still be beneficial for small pages but the benefits are more apparent as the size of the page grows

HTML is used to framework material. CSS is used for style organized material.

Okay, it appears to be a bit technological and complicated. But please read on. It will all appear sensible to you soon.

Back in the good old days when Madonna was a virgin mobile and a guy called Tim Berners Lee developed the World Wide Web, the terminology HTML was only used to add framework to written text. An writer could indicate his written text by revealing "this is a headline" or "this is a paragraph" using HTML labels such as <h1> and <p>.

As the Web became popular, developers started looking for possibilities to add framework to online records. To meet this requirement, the web browser manufacturers (at that period Netscape and Microsoft) developed new HTML labels such as for example <font> which differed from the unique HTML labels by interpreting framework - and not framework.

This also led to a scenario where unique framework labels such as <table> were progressively being abused to framework webpages instead of including framework to written text. Many new framework labels such as <blink> were only reinforced by one type of web browser. "You need web browser X to view this page" became a common legal disclaimer on web sites.

CSS was developed to solution this scenario by offering web developers with innovative framework possibilities reinforced by all internet explorer. Simultaneously, separating of the demonstration style of records from the material of records, makes site servicing a lot easier.

HTML & CSS both are used in designing and both are connected each other like two sides of a single coin, Basically HTML stands for Hyper Text Mark Up Language and used to create static website, but Css stands for cascading style sheets and it is mostly used for formatting of a webpage,
