If you want to build a free/easy website it doesn't get much more fee or easy than that. Even if you don't want to have a "blog" you can just work with static pages and choose less "blog-like" templates.

If you are willing to learn some CSS and HTML, those tools will let you dig into those features, too.

I have to agree on that. Wordpress is really easy to setup and use.

But if you actually want to learn, wordpress is not a good solution, you need to learn from the ground up, learn HTML first, then get a development environment like DW, once you are proficient in those, you can then use WordPress and other lazy ways of creating websites.

temi -- I guess it depends on what your priorities are. I agree directly learning HTML is a quicker way to actually learn HTML.

On the other hand, if your objective is to learn how to create simple "lazy" websites, why not just start out by creating cheap simple websites?

You are quite right, if the guy who asked this question have not plans to build advanced websites in the future, your original suggestion is the best course of action for him to take.

There are many online tutorials available, if you are interested in learning. Just check out them. Otherwise creating blogs is a good way.Just apply/modify the templets and widgets as per your liking and enjoy.....

yeah and w3schools offers best of the tutorials, if you dont wanna hire me!
