HTML is the basic code for websites, it can utilize javascript to do more advanced things like mouseover images, or display the actual time on a webpage.

    hi

HTML is the language in which web pages are written to be interpreted by the server as a graphic interface. Javascipt is similar, but is actually a web-adapted version of actual programming code, intended to write applets (small, web-based applications) for use on websites. They are both a type of code, but html is NOT a programming code. The HTML defines what the webpage looks like, the javascript handles things like counters, games, etc. Other web-based scripting languages, such as php and asp can be used to create entire webpages, but, like Javascript, are generally confined to handling what goes beyond the cosmetics of a website. The cosmetics are what HTML is for.

Javascript is a scripting language developed by Sun Microsystems. Javascript has been used to customize web pages. You can customize your web page to check out who's browsing (by reading the viewer's cookies) figure out where else they've been or where they're located and start putting advertisements for your local area or for other interests that you have shown by your past viewing.

You can learn simple HTML tags to create your own web pages. The commands are located on the Internet. Javascript is a lot more involved.

    HTML: HyperText Markup Language
What HTML is, is nothing more then a way to 'markup' text to display it in another way. For example, if you've ever taken document Editing classes in English class back in High school. you most likly had a class that delt with this. Where you needed to put in a symbole that told a typist that a new paragraph was needed 'here' on the page, or that this word was mis-spelled. This is what HTML is. it's those 'symbols' that tell the browser 'ok, this word needs to be bold. and this one needs to be underlined' etc.
and it uses 'tags' to do this. For example, if you wanted a word to be bold you would use the 'bold' tag to say
"this <B>WORD</B> is bold." the <b></b> are the tags.

    and JavaScript
This is a scripting language. This is a real programming language that browers understand. For example let's say in HTML you have a text box where someone can type in something.. but you don't want them to write naughty words in it. You could use Javascript to parse the text that was typed in in order to check for naughty words.

Javascript allows you to do things on a webpage that HTML and XML won't let you do. HTML is the base, with Javascript sitting on top of it. XML is like a data file standing outside the main sphere of HTML/Javascript.

JavaScript is a more in depth language like C++ but HTML is a very elementary language that uses "tags" to do everything.

Java is an Object Oriented Programming (OOP) language created by James Gosling of Sun Microsystems. JavaScript was created by the fine people at Netscape. JavaScript is a distant cousin of Java. It is also an OOP language. Many of their programming structures are similar. However, JavaScript contains a much smaller and simpler set of commands than does Java. It is easier for the average weekend warrior to understand.
You may be wondering what OOP means by now. Object Oriented Programming is a relatively new concept, whereas the sum of the parts of a program make up the whole. Think of it this way: you are building a model car. You build the engine first. It can stand alone. It is an engine and everyone can see it's an engine. Next you build the body. It can also stand alone. Finally, you build the interior including the seats, steering wheel, and whatnot. Each, by itself is a object. But it is not a fully functioning car until all the pieces are put together. The sum of the objects (parts) make up the whole.

Hypertext markup language (HTML) is a language used to create Web pages. The HTML language is interpreted by the Web browser, and it delivers the images and text for the user.

JavaScript is a more advanced language to make Web pages dynamic. Both these languages have differences, but they are used in unison to present websites.

Some difference between html and javascript are as below :

    1) Html is used to create static webpages where as javascript is used to make validation and some facilities at client side.
    2) Html is markup language where as javascript is client side scripting language.
