    ...computer and notebook card. Already purchased a notebook card for my lap top. Considering getting Charter internet. Do I need to purchase a Router and a modem or just one or the other? I don't have a phone line in my house.

    most wireless routers are a combination of a router AND a modem, but you should double check that this the case before you buy one. if you buy a plain router that does not also operate as a modem you will need to have to attach a modem to it.
