I would say no. If you are just doing general word processing and internet surfing, you will be fine.

Is there a big difference between (Or just the price tag):
45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9500 / 6MB L2 Cache, 2.60GHz, 800MHz FSB
45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme Processor X9000 / 6MB L2 Cache, 2.80GHz, 800MHz FSB
I would say no. If you are just doing general word processing and internet surfing, you will be fine.
It depends on how you will be using the computer, really. If you plan on using a lot of photo and video editing programs or plan on using CPU-intensive games, then the .2 GHz on each core will add up to a total of .4 extra GHz of extra clockspeed, which can make a difference for such CPU intensive tasks.
For general word processing, web surfing, email-checking, etc., you probably really only need about 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, if that much.
It really all depends on what you are using the computer for.
there is a big difference between core 2 duo and extreme get the core 2 duo if you will be using it for everyday use and maybe some gaming.
i would suggest you get core 2 extreme if you are a really heavy gamer on your pc but i would say that core 2 duo is more than enough
A bit faster, but not a huge achievement if you're doing serious video audio processing, or production of large amounts of data at a time. Usually, it is not worth the extra money, but in some cases it may be. carefully consider the options.
If it's not big price difference go with core 2 extreme, but both will do you just fine.
See, when the GHZ value is different the speed would definitely differ, but for usual processing you wont experience much difference, so it depends upon your working requirement and no doubt what ever price difference will be there, it would be worth it, as others say.
it depends wat u are going to do for gaming u need much better than both of those but for basic stuff such as webbrowsing
downloads watching movies itunes etc..
Not too much different with basic descriptions.
