I am new in the field of seo. I have a website related to travel and tourism. As a start, i have decided to submit it to a lot of submissions site. Do you think that this will increase the traffic to my site.

Yes you will increase traffic to your site. When you continue doing submission it is possible to you site to be on top of search engines and it will bring you traffic.

Yes, link building like article, forum, social bookmarkings and social media will increase the traffic to your websites...

Do the link building in such a way that the sites with which you are going to link should be of same theme of yours. Check for the irrelevant linking and if found, ignore linking with that. Also try to get link on pr ranked pages. Add link on directories as well.Surely by doing all these tactics, your site will get a handsome traffic in a little span of time but don't create a link farms. Good Luck!!

I don't think you can get a lot of traffic by directory and article submissions but as a starter you should do all of those to gain backlinks. If you are familiar with social networking, try joining. Social networking is the best place to have more traffic. By the use of this strategy you can connect with targeted visitors much easier.

social bookmarking will help you boost your traffic.. make your title more catchy and very interesting to click.. and make it descriptive and controversy.

Forget directories and start working on social sites like blogs, bookmarkers, video sites, image sites, forums, bulletin boards, article sites, press releases etc.....but please no directories. Do you visit directories? nope? me neither! and so does every body....you wouldn't want your link to get visible after 4-6 months or even more....
