What’s the difference between PR and Alexa Rank?
I am always confused with these two’s Alexa Rank and Page rank, I see some of the directories has better Alexa Rank but Low PR or even at 0. So can you advice me which is better, High Alexa Rank directories or High PR directories? for making good backlinks.
Please do advice me on this…

Alexa Rank count no. of visitors or traffics but PR is based on no. go back links and that is not valuable within SEO.

Whereas Alexa rank completely depends on the volume of traffic.

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, The Alexa rank is measured according to the amount of users who’ve visited a website with the Alexa toolbar installed.

Page Rank & Alexa Rank is both are different.
Page Rank Means :- PageRank is a link analysis algorithm used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting.
Alexa Rank Means :- is best known for operating a website that provides information on web traffic to other websites.

Page rank is associated with google algorithms and alexa has its own criteria to analyze site traffic.

They said it all :P But sometimes, Im confused on how the Alexa ranking goes and how they rank our sites. Is it just based on traffic?

PR is based on no of your sites backlinks while Alexa Ranking is based on how many visitors who have installed Alexa Toolbar view your site.
Neither or them are that important., the only things that really matter are traffic and, for some, income. Other stuff is great to have but not necessary for success. High PR and Alexa don't bring success - success brings high PR and Alexa. Though Alexa is inaccurate but that tells more about traffic and traffic is more important!
