Meta Tags

Meta tags are often part of the coding of a website, although they are being found less and less these days. Meta tags are elements of the web page language HTML or XHTML that provide metadata, data or information for the search engines about that webpage. Meta tags can be used to detail the page description, keywords and other data not specified in the head elements of the page.

Many website owners put efforts into making their Web pages more visible in Google. In doing so, they rely on the process of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Some of the text content of the webpage is not visible to the human visitor. For example there is information in what are called meta tags. Such information can only be seen by checking on the source code for the Web page.

Title Tag is the most powerful on-site SEO technique you have. What you place in the title tag should only be one thing, the exact keyword you used for the web page that you are trying to optimize. Every single web page should have it's own title tag.

Meta Keywords Tag consist the list f important keywords that the search engine spiders or crawlers or bots can read and relate to the webpage. The Meta keywords tag should consist of the specific words and/or phrases that your web page is written about. These words and phrases are more commonly referred to as your "keywords" and "key phrases".

Meta Description Tag is a small piece of HTML code. The Meta description tag describes your site content, generous search engines' spiders an exact summary filled with numerous keywords. The Meta description tag should contain multiple keywords prearranged in a logical condemnation. Place the keywords at the beginning of your description and close to each other to achieve the best possible rankings.

ALT Tag - is a HTML tag that provides another text when non-textual fundamentals, usually images, cannot be displayed. ALT tag provides further detail for an image or the destination of a hyperlinked image.
