yes, you are right. There is not need to count backlink. just by doing regular back link it will increase rank of the site.

You can have as much as back links. But upto some level if the site gets suddenly more links on daily bases then it can be considered as a spam.

Doing quality and relevant link building in order to get backlinks is the most important thing in order to ensure that you will going to rank higher on search engines. Just think that quality plays more important rather than quantity in link building. But it is much better to have both quality and quantity at the same time when it comes to link building and it should also be a continuous process.

It is also considered to be the best way of increasing website traffic and most importantly increasing the page rank (search engine value) of a website/blog.

Although i have been getting links out and about when i check links via google webmaster tools it only shows 1, any ideas to why this is?
