Penalty means temporary period ban. Where as ban means totally ban for life time.

Google pose penalty for a website if we use few spam techniques like paid links, duplicate content. It directly give penalty to your toolbar page rank,. Ban means the site does not live or totally banned for life time.

The queue dodging penalty is so so light, you have no idea. Be thankful that you only must wait for ten minutes before getting back in, unlike in HoN where individuals who bail out of games.

Ban means totally disappear from search engine, Penalty means temporarily loose ranking on some of the keywords due to spamming or over SEO ing.

How do you know if your website has been penalized? Do you receive a email from google or how?
If your site has been banned, its simple you know it, but how do you know if there has been a penality.

(1)Adsense revenue has been dropped
(2)Daily traffic has been dropped.
(3)Your articles have lost top position in Google ranking
(4)PageRank goes down up to 0 or N/A
(5)Backlinks are lost
(6)Number of Google results will decreased (Indexed Pages)
