What is Hot Linking?

Hot Linking is the process by which one links to an image stored on one site yet it appears on one or more other sites. If done without permission, this is considered unethical since one is running up a bandwidth bill on someone elses tab.

yep. That's exactly why hotlinking has been so troublesome.

using someone else bandwidth without his permission or authorization is hot linking.It is a theft.

Direct links to your images without recognizing yourself or your site in any way. Essentially, it flies - they suggest that it is their job and not give any credit to who own the images and they may even be breahing copyright.
