What do you think....long tail or Exact?

Hi Guys,

In the morning, I was looking at the keywords driving traffic to my site.

I noticed one thing that ealier there used to be few keywords driving traffic to my site. But today when I opened my analytics it was showing me a huge list of keyphrases but in comparison there was not much difference in traffic.

Means, now days we should focus more on long tail keywords then exact keywords.

What do you think?

The main reason is long tail keyword is less competitive... Whether you can achieve high rankings for competitive keywords or not, long tail keywords could be highly beneficial for you.

Long tail keywords are less competitive you can be on top of the SERP easily but whether a user will come and try that keyword, that's the issue with long tail keywords.

I think that now many people they don't know how to express their point of view exactly and that's why may be it's necessary to have some long words, but you should forget exact words.

Yes, normally visitors doesn't search in short tail keyword, they go with long tail keyword because using long tail KW they would search exactly what we want. According to SEO perspective you can achieve more goals using long tail KW's

Ultimately we want to get ranked for short or exact keywords...but as short k/ws are very competitive, so we choose short k/ws first and when they ranked well, we go for short or exact keywords

I think i agree with you generally user will use long tail key word so that they can get the exact match

Yes I generally go after long tail keywords also.
