Re: Why might you want to use nofollow on an internal link?
Nofollow is usually use to prevent link juice being passed, so if the internal page does not wont link juice its can have the nofollow attribute eg ”register here” or “sign in” links.

That will work? Increase PR?
Always make the best to be better, then why not pick TaylorMade R9 Super Tri Driver out of these fabulous golf club sets?

Re: Why might you want to use nofollow on an internal link?
There maybe some pages on your site where you don't want to pass the PR juice and like Hafsoh mentioned pages like register, sign in don't need to have PR so you can add nofollow to these links.

Re: Why might you want to use nofollow on an internal link?
Page Rank sculpting is no more a working trick friend. We can technically prevent PR leakage by inserting nofollow but that won't help to improve the PR share of other links on the same page.
I am still using nofollow for some of my internal links as to avoid content duplication. Eg: Tags and archives point the same content but with different url.

when you have a nofollow attribute the crawlers wont visit that page which that link leads to. the link wont get any seo related benefits from that page. (internal or external same result)

Re: Why might you want to use nofollow on an internal link?
hi,
nofollow links are also important even if they don't have link juice but still they can drive traffics to a site and that you can also promote your site on nofollow blogs. That is why nofollow links are still important in optimizing a site.

I think we would like to use nofollow attributes on pages we want to hold PR juices.

Have a good day,
