I think it might be organic seo also called white hat seo.

It help your sites going on top of search engines and keep them on top of SERP.

i think it is organic seo,it means add keyword in your title,meta keyword and description, have a good use interface and inbound links,then build more high quality external backlinks.
And other way to promotion one's site is ppc.
