    JQuery is a cross-browser JavaScript library designed to simplify the client side HTML scripting. It is light weight so no extra loading of the web pages. I too have used JQuery in my website while creating a slider.

    jQuery is a lightweight "write less do more" JavaScript library and advance version of javascript.It is a client side scripting language.The purpose of jQuery is to make it much easier to use JavaScript on your website.

    Example:
    $(document).ready(function()
    {
    $("p").click(function()
    {
    $(this).hide();
    });

    The jQuery library makes it easy to access any DOM element, refer to the attributes and content of DOM elements, manipulate them. Also the jQuery library provides a convenient API for working with AJAX.

    jQuery is a fast, small, and feature-rich JavaScript library.
    It makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax much simpler with an easy-to-use API that works across a multitude of browsers.

    • uses a simple, clean, powerful syntax
    • is highly extensible
    • is lean and mean
