    Hey,

I personally prefer XML sitemaps and also they are pretty effective with the search engines. There are many tutorials online which can help you with the process.
    Good luck.

I am also suggest XML to create site map because it is more suitable for website site map and there is no difference between XML and HTML site map but to come out at higher rank in search page of search engine it is more important and there are so many help and tutorials on internet.

XML sitemap and HTML sitemap are two very separate but key area of best practice SEO.
For best practice SEO you need both an HTML sitemap and an XML sitemap.

HTML stand by hyper text markup language. XML is stand by extensible markup language. XML is a subset. XML is a meta language. XLM is using to take the lead in your IT profession. XML is simple and offers most of the power of HTML.

You must use the one that you are knowing the best.....not the one that other is suggesting.

XML is the parent of XHTML in the same way that SGML is the parent of HTML. XML is HTML's uncle.
"XML is mainly for exchanging data between machines."

Nope, it's a way of structuring data and documents that is both human and machine readable. It is also a way to describe rules that define a type of document or application that is a subset of XML. XML is all grammar but has a way to define the vocabulary.

"HTML is mainly for formatting text to display in a web browser"

    Thanks
