Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

SourceForge Inc is seeking a full-time Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to test SourceForge.net, the world's largest Open Source software development Web site.

This staff member will:

* Develop comprehensive testing plans for major site updates.
* Build both automated and manual automated test cases.
* Identify & implement technologies and tools to improve the site QA process.
* Work with developers to prevent bugs getting into the code.
* Identify, report on and verify bugs.
* Co-ordinate testing activities between different groups.
* Work with local and remote teams using Agile practices.

Required skills and education:

- Four-year science or engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
- Min 3 years of complex application or large web site testing experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux configuration, software installation and use - including remote access, shell script development etc.
- Practical experience with testing frameworks (QTP, xUnit, Selenium, FitNesse..)
- Comfortable writing and reading advanced SQL queries.
- Experience working with HTTP, HTML, Javascript and CSS.
- SCM knowledge including CVS & Subversion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, team oriented.

Desirable Experience:

- One year+ experience with Unix scripting languages inc. Perl, Python or UNIX shell scripting.
- Familiar with PHP and Java Web Applications.
- Familiar with Open Source tools and methodologies
- Involved with Open Source Community Projects
- Familiar with XP/Scrum development methodology
- Mailing List management and configuration experience (outlook, mailman etc.)
