Linux Security Administrator Global Networking

Medweb is looking for a few experts in Linux Admin, security, and SQL databases to help us manage a network of about 1000 Linux servers.

You should not just know Linux; you should know it better than you know your Mother. If your have just managed to install a debian or ubuntu linux build and run a webserver on your home network, then this really isn't the job for you. If on the other hand, you can easily compile linux to fit on a floppy disk, configure an ldap server, rebuild and manage a PSQL database, or update and configure a secure mail server, configure and manage firewalls and VPN software,, recompile kernels, update libraries, migrate applications from older to newer kernels and figure out the associated library updates to build the new server, and like it when people REALLY APPRECIATE your excellent work and reward you for it, THEN THIS JOB IS THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR, and you will be rewarded handsomely.

Responsibilities:
• Design, project manage and deploy UNIX and Cisco based systems and network infrastructures. Act as technical lead for UNIX and Cisco based deployments.
• Maintain and administer 24x7 production infrastructure running AIX, LINUX systems and support, administer and maintain Cisco based LAN and WAN.
• Manage overall service UNIX and Network infrastructure capacity including systems performance monitoring, systems capacity planning and systems tuning, etc.
• Oversee all UNIX server deployments, provide guidance in system sizing and design for UNIX systems.
• Identify network and server configuration and/or performance irregularities, make performance tuning recommendations.
• Maintain and develop documentation of UNIX Server, as well working with application team to develop an enterprise interface topology.
• Develop, test, tune UNIX shell scripts and batch jobs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for UNIX and network related engineering and administration functions coordinate third-party resources to implement changes and upgrades.
• On-call duty and scheduled off-peak maintenances required.

Experience:
• Must have 5+ years experience Unix System Systems and Cisco Networks in a Production Environment supporting mission critical systems must have a proven track record of technical and project leadership.
• Extensive experience with IBM based AIX, pSeries systems.
• Experience with VMWare Server and ESX in production environments.
• Must have excellent communication skills
