JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking a Developer for the Web Services team with core knowledge grounded in Java and an emphasis on Web technologies. This position requires that the candidate possess detailed knowledge about SQL (preferably MySQL) and client-server interaction, as well as the ability to debug complex and dynamic web apps and engineer them for high-performance. We are actively developing a number of web 2.0-style APIs and services, using SOAP, REST, XML and similar technologies. This requires familiarity with current and emerging web 2.0 standards, knowledge of cross-site scripting limitations and workarounds, and stewardship over evolving APIs being consumed by third parties.

Requirements:
• Professional web services development experience
• Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines
• Knowledge of principles of usability and evaluation techniques (Usability testing and other user centered design tools)
• Good Information Architecture sense in a scalable dynamic GUI
• You must be very experienced at developing database-driven web applications
• Solid understanding of and experience implementing usability concepts in Web and desktop contexts
• Excellent team work skills with an ability to get the work done with minimal supervision
• Work closely with the back-end architecture team
• Understanding of large scale, multi-tier web application architecture
• 5 plus years of experience
• Minimum B.S. in Computer Science or applicable field

Skills:
• Superb knowledge in JavaScript, DHTML, and AJAX
• Good GUI design skills, particularly for Web pages and AJAX interfaces
• Java, MySQL and Linux/UNIX is a highly desired
• XML, RPC, SOAP, XSLT and related technologies are highly desired
• Excellent understanding of HTML/DHTML and CSS standards and how browsers break them
• Working experience with SOAP, REST is a plus
• Some experience with Perl is also a plus
