Metromix is Growing! Metromix is an established entertainment, dining, events & nightlife web guide with local perspective currently in 10 markets across the US. Targeting the 18-34 demographic, Metromix plans to expand its local offerings to 45 markets in 2008.

To accomplish our business goals, we use Ruby on Rails to build a robust and highly configurable content delivery and management platform. We are seeking a strong Quality Assurance Analyst to help us create more compelling features and expand the capabilities of our publishing system.

Specifically, we're looking for a QA Engineer who is well versed in automated testing using open source tools such as Selenium or who is experienced in creating test plans & test harnesses for APIs, Services or Libraries. Experience with functional, integration, system, regression & performance testing in an automated environment is highly desired.

In our product development team, we value:

Historically we've found candidates with experiences similar to items listed below are successful in our interviewing process:

· Testing high-volume and consumer facing database-driven web applications.

· Structured QA methodologies, preferably Agile such as XP or SCRUM.

· Willingness to become a key contributor of our automated testing infrastructure and test case development standards

· Working knowledge of SQL & scripting development languages such as Ruby, Python/Jython and or JavaScript a plus.

· Selenium, Watir, FitNesse or other Agile community automated testing tools

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or a related field) is desired or prior work experience that is applicable to the position. The ideal profile includes 2-5 or more years of experience as a QA Analyst (Entry-level candidates with a solid interest and background will be considered).

· Comfort in Unix (Mac OS X, Linux) and Windows environments

· Interacting effectively with other team members, management and clients. Must have excellent verbal/written communications skills, as there is a high degree of interaction.

· Keen eye on stability of high-volume, 24x7 web site usage including flexibility to support a 24x7 operation requiring some off-hours work for assisting with development and deployment activities

· A customer support orientation and competence in response to vendors and staff during system implementation and problem resolution.
