I've never purchased anything from ebay, but I'm going to soon.

SO, basically I have no idea how this paypal thing works...is there anyone who can give me a brief summary of what exactly I need to know about the whole process?

I'm probably making this more confusing than it needs to be! But thanks to all who answer! =)

Hey there, yeah it is very a very easy process

First thing that you have to do is sign up with Paypal, you can do this with a CC or a bank account. I found that the fastest way was with a CC and then Ijust added the bank account later.

Then since PP and ebay are owned by the same people, if the merchant accepted paypal then you can simply click the link that will be in the the MY Ebay page after you have won the auction and pay away.

Ebay owns paypal. You have to sign up for each one separately. Paypal is free for buyers, but they charge a small percentage of the sale price to sellers who use it to accept credit or debit cards. It is linked to your bank account. You give a bank account and a credit or debit card on file to be considered "verified".

    It's really simple.

You register your Credit Card with PayPal and when you make an eBay purchase, you hit the Pay Now button. You will be automatically taken to your PayPal account where you will authorise payment. The money will be taken out of your account and passed on to the vendor

You can also preload your PalPay account with cash to make even faster transactions.

Pay pal is linked to your bank account. Whenever you buy something the cost is taken from there, if you sell something, your fees are taken from there as well and the buyers cost is added. Its quite easy once you get use to it.

You get an account and then you pay it though the ebay, so you don't get ripped off, I think that is how it works.
