Look at it like this.....from 1 to 2 from 2 to 3 and from 3 to 1

Suppose you own two website X and Y. And you agree to some other website Z to swap links. In a three way linking, you place your X website's link on Z website, and in return, you dont place z website's link on your X website, but place link on Y website.. This is Three way linking building

It is exchanging link to your website through a third party.
