my favorite SEO technique is forum posting, this is the first i tried and still the favorite, almost all i know about IM i know from forums and Google and it determines my choice.

The main reason for optimizing on Google is most of the people use Google now a days and our site gets more popular only if our site ranks top in Google's SERP. I agree with culbert601. Social Bookmarking is one of the best method of SEO because if the post gets many votes it will be displayed in top and the back link has more value. Back link from Press Release(PR) sites will also have a good value.
