Alexa is another search engine and as far as I know Alexa givs the page rank according to the number of pages on the site, while Google considers many factors, like the links.
Alexa gives ranking as per the volume of traffic to your site while Page Rank of Google is counted by back-links...
Alexa is a popular site that keeps track of site access statistics and their rankings.
Page Rank is based on many factors like back links, in links, bounce rate,etc. Only Google knows the exact algorithm for PR.
But Alexa Rank is based on the traffic we are getting. The website with good traffic will get good alexa rank ir-respctive of other factors
Alexa is a measure for traffic while page rank refers to the importance of your sites in Google's eyes.
