Alexa is not search engine. It is a tool which show you the number of Visitor visit your website.
If Your website Alexa rank is 1000 than You can say Every 1001 visitor visits your site.

I think Alexa rank has no importance in SEO.

As per I know,Google page rank describes the importance of your site and web pages to the Google index.The web pages which we give more importance is ranked first on the Google search engine.Where as Alexa rank is based on the traffic on the site where the highly visited site is ranked with 1.Its a number which is constantly changing with every new visit on the site.
