Alexa provides users with beneficial tools that cut down on information filtering time, which enhances the decision making process. The Alexa search and browse function grants users quick access to information by supplying thumbnail snap shots and information balloons about websites.

Using Alexa toolbar does attract some benefits to your website. Keep on increasing the number of backlinks to your website every week and you will see some good results within a month.

It provides the traffic details dude. You have to monitor the traffic frequently and if it falls low you have to make changed in your site as well as the promotion techniques to make it increase.

Alexa is good for a rough, relative traffic comparison between two or more sites.I haven't seen any indication that search engines use alexa rank in their algorithms.Just like Google's Page Rank, Alexa's data should be taken with a grain of salt when being used as a measure of website traffic.

I could not find my own site using some of my targeted keywords while they are all rank high in Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Alexa to me is more of a ranking / stats tool rather than a search engine. People say its inaccurate but I find it a very useful tool.

Alexa is a difficult engine to go through because it's primarily based out of dmoz.org which is also incredibly hard to get through, mostly because it's all human-based and it takes up to 3 months (or so) just to review sites before they're added. Not to mention if you submit to the wrong directory you don't even get in. It's a tricky directory in that sense, thus making Alexa just as tricky. My suggestion to you would be to submit your site to a few different categories in dmoz and then wait, you can't really do too much else... make sure the content you submit to dmoz is current and saturated with accuracy and you should be good. Hope this helps
