microsoft vs openofice

I think Openoffice is more perspective. Becouse it's opensource.

This is a simple one. I don't have clients coming to me asking for integration of OpenOffice with their Web site, desktop applications, accounting systems, or CRM/ERP/BI systems. Sure I have the knowledge and skills to do it, but all my customers and prospects use MS Office apps and want them integrated.

In the last year, two clients made the switch from Office 2003 to OpenOffice. Why? Three reasons:

1) Enough Incompatibility with vendors and customers who have standardized on MS Office

2) Few employee training resources and no interest in training new hires on OpenOffice

3) The IT staff came to realize that end-users could "fend for themselves" when using MS Office, whereas the phones of the IT staff kept ringing off the hook for OpenOffice help desk questions.

I don't have enough technical information for provide a detailed feature or technical comparison of the two. Maybe OpenOffice is superior. There just isn't enough motivation for business owners, especially small business owners, to switch.

If you don't have money to buy Microsoft Office than Open Office is your solution!

I'm using microsoft office because I'm more familiar with it but I also use openoffice for some features that I use.

Open office is better but ms office is faster, i'm sticking with openoffice

Openoffice and MS Office are almost the same. I guess the difference between the two is Microsoft office is more friendly user than openoffice.

if you want free use openoffice. Use MS Office if you are well acquainted with it and it is more user-friendly than openoffice.
