    There cannot be any substitute for the Microsoft. I like the open source but its performance is quite slow. And, I hate it. Now please share your views on this.

    Both Microsoft Office and OpenOffice are strong platforms that will support office productivity. You might want to consider installing both office suites to allow your users a choice.

    Pro Plus just crushes OpenOffice, IMO. Last time I used OO it felt like a half baked version of MS Office 2003 plus the layout when switching files from openoffice to office was getting screwed up but MS to OO worked fine.

    But yeah I'd rather use full features OO than crippled adware starter (which doesn't even have powerpoint).

    I guess the difference between the two is Microsoft office is more friendly user than open-office, Open-office and MS Office are almost the same.

    I'm using enthusiasm 'office' because I'm more acquainted with it but I also use openoffice for some functions that I use.
