Works fine for me i can change the homepage to whatever i want.
Check your antivirus or spyware software maybe be it is blocking you from making any changes.
Disable it and then try changing it should work then.

Can anyone tell me why when searching from the address bar it is now defaulting
to Window Live Search? For reasons unbeknownst to me my default search engine when searching from the address bar is now defaulting on Windows Live Search although when clicking the magnifying glass icon in my IE toolbar and selecting "Customize" in the following left pane then selecting Google as my default search engine from the address bar as I have successfully normally done in the past, it continues to persist using WLS?
Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem?

i think problem could be the same as cyberbog mentioned.
