Blogging is basically an online diary which other people can read. You can also say different things, express your opinion, or show a book your working on.

No, I jest! A blog is an online journal, a biographical log, a frequently updated personal web page.

At its worst, a blog can be an egotistical, boring account of someones obsession with themselves , at best, it can be a really fun way to share information with like minded individuals.

Two good example are the Bad Astronomy Blog
and Warblog - this is a simple but devastating idea, and an example of how creative you can be with a blog. Some one has a collection of letters written home from the front in world war 1, and is posting them online, in real time, so we can follow a soldiers unfolding story, 90 years on.
