An exchange of links between two websites is called reciprocal link.I usually prefer one way link building.

Its very simple.An exchange of link between two websites..But i suggest to you is one way links is good.

Reciprocal links are those where the directory want you put its link on your web site by doing paste link code in your HTML file.

A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own Web site links to another link site.It can also help increase traffic to your site in two ways.Directories don't seem be as beneficial as they once were. They way that link exchanges are recognized by search engines, which will not index such links.

Use reciprocal links with common sense. Be picky and don't just link back to anyone who asks, and especially don't "overdo" it. Too many of these kind of links will do more harm than benefit to your site's ranking, popularity and traffic. Google considers having lots of irrelevant reciprocal links to be a link exchange scheme, which, let's face it, it really is. And since Google doesn't approve of such tricks, your site could loose rankings and the links considered to be inadequate, thus devalued.
